Squeeeeeeeee! Oh, that is gorgeous! Well, that does it. I'm pre-ordering the soundtrack. Or at the very least putting it on my Amazon wish list and strong-arming the spawn into looking at said list.

He seemed to respond well to my demands for 'more anvil!' Pop music needs more anvil!"

Er, I'm not so sure about more anvil. Sounds suspiciously like more cowbell.

Yegads, there go my illusions down the flusher, and now I'm picturing Thrór, Thrain, Thorin and Balin standing atop a hill and reenacting that as they watch Erebor burn.

(Nice icon!)

LOL! That's excellent!

Re: the icon. The Dark Muse suggested that, knowing full well that on my hard drive, there's a half-baked draft of a story that addresses his forays into necromancy. I expect he was just tossing me a crumb after I bitched and whined at him about being so intransigent with regard to recreational writing.

Ah ha. Bet it would/will be a cool story when written.

Lately my muses all just want to sit on their asses and bitch at each other and watch dated television shows. >=[

Oh my, I'm so pleased with this. I'm delighted that I pre-ordered the soundtrack more than a week ago. Heck, my credit card was paid off and I can't possibly let it stay that way for long... Loved it - want more anvils. Must listen to it again....

It is quite lovely! (No, can't let the credit cards stay paid off, as we both know..)

...I feel like such an old grump for not liking this song all that much. Well, I do like it, actually - it's just that...it sounds a bit like a power ballad. I don't really associate power ballads with Dwarves, or Middle Earth for that matter. I like the "ajajajja"and the anvils though. Meh, it'll grow on me, I suppose.

It is anachronous, true; I hadn't really thought of it like that since a lot of flims/shows have end credit songs that don't quite "fit."

Plus I've been listening to various Tolkien-themed bands that are "modern" in one way or other for years, so with me and Middle-earth pretty much anything goes. (I've got a specific one in mind, I'll probably inflict it on anyone who reads this comment as soon as I find a decent specimen..)

ETA - Erk, this fellow Barroquejón is pretty obscure and the only song I could find was not the one I had in mind. 'The Awakening of Fangron.'
The one I wanted was called "Hopes For A Batter Quest" and is delightfully corny and overblown (at least I love it).
