It is anachronous, true; I hadn't really thought of it like that since a lot of flims/shows have end credit songs that don't quite "fit."
Plus I've been listening to various Tolkien-themed bands that are "modern" in one way or other for years, so with me and Middle-earth pretty much anything goes. (I've got a specific one in mind, I'll probably inflict it on anyone who reads this comment as soon as I find a decent specimen..)
ETA - Erk, this fellow Barroquejón is pretty obscure and the only song I could find was not the one I had in mind. 'The Awakening of Fangron.' The one I wanted was called "Hopes For A Batter Quest" and is delightfully corny and overblown (at least I love it).
