Inane things that pique my curiosity

So ocassionally I'll notice a woman (in real life or an actress on a show) who pulls this facial expression when her eyebrows sorta lower, except where they instead raise up near the bridge of her nose, usually to convey something unpleasant or baffling.

I like to think I'm good at expressions, but I can't for the life of me reproduce this.  I wonder if it's something to do with a particular arrangment/tendency of muscles on an individual's brow and only some people will naturally do it, or if perhaps it somehow has something to do with eyebrow pencil extending the eyebrow to a place where it seems to move in an interesting way when the muslces underneath move?

Well, I've never managed the one eyebrow lift as used by Nimoy and others, and I can't whistle. Friends of mine have both of these actions nailed. I am ambidextrous, however, and have other talents that they don't. I think it's a lovely thing - that each of us have individual strengths and weaknesses when compared to our comrades.

Ooh, mirrors reflected in other mirrors are cool. I've used them as a device in a couple stories, one recently and one many years ago.

I can do all sorts of weird eyebrow wiggles but I'm not quite sure which expression you mean...If you draw it I could try a tutorial. :P I for some reason can make the kind of eyebrow movements that makes people choke on their drinks simply because for some reason I find those muscles very easy to move. I know because I tried to teach a friend. I'm fairly sure it has to do with muscle control, not pencil.

It didn't work, but then, neither did her teaching me to control the muscles apparently attached to your ears (I still feel like I might not even have those muscles). She could actually move them separately. I tried, but maaaan. It seems like which facial muscles you're good at controlling simply differs and is apparently hard to learn. Meh.

If I remembered what show I saw it on recently I'd try and get a couple screencaps, but I don't remember. Argh.

My rationale with the eyebrow pencil hypothesis was that maybe there's eyebrow penciled where there usually is none, but that might just be me trying to justify to myself my not being able to do the expression. =P
