June of Doom & Gloom - Wrap-up!

Welcome to the wrap-up, where I'm not linking to the original post because now it's done and I'm too lazy! hurrah!

Thank you very much to everyone who participated, whether it was by writing drabbles, ficlets, or using the opportunity to pick up an unfinished work. I was delighted to see the variety of work this spawned. I will likely host this little challenge again next June (and maybe make some banners or something y/y?)

Attn: I will make a round-up post of links to stories next week (8 Jul). If you would like your work(s) to be included in the round-up post, please do drop a link in the comments section below before then.
Multiple links are acceptable if you archive in multiple places (links to LJ, dA, etc. also cool).
[ETA - if someone does not have LJ but happened to write something for this, anon is now enabled so people who aren't registered on this site can comment here. I'd thought I had it enabled before, but no.]

ETA 2 - Behold, the shiny new AO3 collection! Do make use of this. Posting to the collection should be open now. Many thanks to Zdenka/[livejournal.com profile] lignota for doing most of the work involved in setting this up.

I just copy/pasted from my lj but when I checked the preview I realized some names didn't have the proper accent. So I had to c/p from another source to my lj, and c/p from my lj to the work.

But the real problem is losing the italicised (sic) portion. Only the first line is being italicised on parts while other segments have it all italicised. I tried to just cut out the mistake and redo the but it refuses to hold.

I think the only thing to do is delete and start a fresh copy. :(

Ah, yes. There is a frustrating bug on AO3 where if you have italics tags spanning multiple line breaks, the italics will only "take" on the first line. I encountered it once before, and AO3 support told me to put a separate set of italics tags around each line. It was a nuisance, but it worked.

I don't know whether adding in all the extra tags would be more or less of a pain than posting a fresh copy, but it's something to consider if you keep having trouble.

In either case, I hope it works!

Ok, thank you for the suggestion. I will probably try it later on, :)

Hope you're able to figure it out. AO3 causes me inordinate confusion every time I venture there. My story was already posted in another archive, and I successfully used the "import" feature without incident, except that it inserted all the story info into the first chapter and I had to edit that out.
