These early episodes are a real acquired taste, I think. Wait till you get to the episodes with no pictures! Wait till you get to the episodes with barely any sound! I confess I love this first season, and I find the opening episode one of the most scintillating half hours of TV I've ever seen. I love how Doctor Who is like one long case study of changes in television production.
