Dreamwidth has so many more good themes than LJ does

 Decided to switch my journal themes up for a change. Over at LJ, it was the same browsing through the small assemblage of crappy free themes they've had unchanged for like a decade (choose "Forest Afar"). At DW, meanwhile, you are literally drowning in beautiful free themes (got too overwhelmed to browse them all and settled upon "Pulse")! 

Another point in Dreamwidth's favor.  This is where I declaim something about the elder days passing into younger days, but that's too much work.

I like Dreamwidth's themes too! I changed mine not long ago when I started using DW primarily. It has trees. :)

This is beautiful, but I couldn't work on it because of my eyesight. Sad little me. I need a light text area with dark text. But this is a gorgeous luscious red!

Aw.
It's interesting what works and doesn't work for different eyes. I have a somewhat hard time reading medium text (like grey) on white background, especially if it's serif font.

Lol, I think most of my titles have come from Oscar Wilde, because I love his writing.

DW has gorgeous themes. I haven't reused a single one in any comm I've created. But I found the one I adore for my journal back when I first got an account here and was able to personalize it a little with CSS and picking colors that work best with my visual issues. So I'm not switching. (Black on white is too bright though I'm used to it because it's everywhere and I can't do white on black at all. I love that DW has a site-wide "use my journal style" feature open to free accounts… unlike LJ where it's a paid feature.)

Oh that's good that DW has "use my journal style" available to all. On LJ I've felt a little bad a couple times if I've had colors that people might have trouble reading, but I also want to be able to retain my own sense of personalization--so, it's nice to know my sometimes eccentric color choices will never be imposed on anyone here who doesn't want them.
