This is really riveting and creepy.  Hard to categorize, although some of the background music is reminiscent of GoT music to me.

Judging by the symbols* and the overall sound, I'd say it's the genre known as "witch house." If you're not already familiar, you might be into it, if you are so inclined as to seek more out.

*ETA: symbols in the name, that is. Seems to be a witch house thing. Certainly opens up band name choices, and helps with search engine optimization. While looking "kvlt."

Oooooh, I like it! Riveting and creepy describe it well.

'd say it's the genre known as "witch house."

Huh. I had not heard of that genre. Well, The More You Know™. Thanks!

I thought you might like it! Something vaguely Lovecraftian about it..

I hadn't heard of "witch house" either (and the name, I gotta admit, appeals to me). I'm not sure if the sound in this song typifies the band, as I've yet to look into it. Wikipedia simply lists them as "experimental rock" and "art rock," whatever that means. I may have to look into witch house more though, thanks for mentioning it!

It's tough to pigeonhole modern bands into any one genre... But anyway, witch house is often described as creepy and minimalist -- or, possibly, dance music for brooding wizards!

You TOTALLY could make a witch house soundtrack for Winter's... oh wait. ;)

THIS. It's why I tend to appreciate modern (or, postmodern, or, fusion, or, whatever) music/lit/art/drama/etc. Convention is a tyrant and art should be liberated! *flail!*
Although it's a problem whenever people ask what "kind of" music I like.

Saruman: Dance...?
Gandalf: Don't tell me you've never danced.
Saruman: I don't want to talk about it.
Gandalf: Try dancing with hobbits!
Saruman: ... *puts in earbuds, presses a few buttons on MP3 player, and zones out enigmatically*

It has also made it tough to describe my band to people. Very tough. Never figured out a decent "elevator pitch"...

Saruman, muttering to self: I have more dignity than to show skinny old-man legs while whirling about in some irksome jig.

It's an interesting sound and I like the lyrics. I'll have to do some hunting on this witch genre. This is TOTALLY Sauron dance music!

Elevator pitches are difficult when one's thing defies easy categorization, I'm sure (although, as a general rule, the more things defy categorization, the more awesome they are).

...skinny old-man legs while whirling about in some irksome jig.

HA! Indeed.

Yeah isn't it interesting? Looks like there's generally consensus in this thread that some sort of dark lord dance party is about to go down..
