Day Twelve
In your own space, talk about what you think the future holds for fandom. What are your hopes and dreams for fandom? Do you have any predictions about what the next five years holds for fandom?

The blurb that accompanied this prompt mentioned how the internet was a game changer in terms of fandom. Let's step this up technologically: what's the next "game changer?"
Many of you have already mentioned the sociopsychological aspects of changing fandom (and fandom staying the same). I'm going somewhere else. Interwebs allowed us to "speak" with people all over the world, to connect with crowds who share interests that we might otherwise have gone our whole lives never having anyone with whom to talk about them. So what's next, guys? I'm jumping ahead a wee bit further than five years.
HOW WOULD A HOLODECK CHANGE FANDOM?
HOW WOULD "AVATARS" (yeah like that movie) CHANGE FANDOM?
HOW THE ACTUAL HELL WOULD CYBERNETICS AND GENETIC MODIFICATION CHANGE FANDOM??
Sorry I'm just really psyched about these questions because personally I would love to actually be able to "inhabit" my characters...It'd be like fanart meets acting. I'd probably spend all day in the forms, tweaking and altering them to actually look like I envision them, and also just to inhabit them as a way to "get into" my writing more. Plus, if people could meet with other people in such guises/environs/etc...?? (I think my dream of being a shapeshifter might possibly be showing.)
DISCUSS.

Day Thirteen
In your own space, talk about setting yourself a fannish goal. Big or small, it doesn't matter. Some great examples include: complete a bingo, sign-up for a Big Bang, write that fic you've been thinking about for years, podfic that story that you love, make a fanmix for your fandom, post that bit of meta or reclist you keep postponing. Maybe resolve to be better at leaving feedback, or answering comments.
Well, erm, seeing as how I barely wrote or read anything during 2013, my goal is just to write and read (+review) more. I actually do tend to review/comment on most of the stuff I read (at least in this particular venue where I know those whose stuff I'm reading). By which anyone who's seen my comments or dearth thereof can probably assess how little I read last year.
