The characters really grabbed me right away, actually. Thus far I've only watched the pilot episode so I can't speak to the repetitious mutilated-young-woman-murder-victim motif (possibly helps that I've never watched CSI and similar things). I have to admit the whole antler thing in the first episode struck me as far more "artistic" than "gratuitous."
