Interesting legends about Devil's Tower, WY. Many involve a bear attempting to capture children. One includes a great eagle rescuing the children from the pinnacle (sound familiar, Tolkien fans?)
[On a totally unrelated note: I was amused recently to learn that the phrase In vino veritas is attributed to Pliny the Elder (evidently lifted off a Greek phrase attributed to Alcaeus). I love that guy.]
The Cart of Doom (which has many other names) is the cart that the professor brings to class every time there are take home tests, so that all the tests are stacked on it. Last time it appeared, there were mutterings of "Burn it!". The professor didn't let us though. ;p ...at least it's now named Grond.
He gives us each a legal pad to take it home in and write it on. So legal pad with test tucked inside, multiplied by however many students. (Plus, I think part of it is him just liking the looks on all our faces as the cart appears in the doorway.)
