Interesting legends about Devil's Tower, WY. Many involve a bear attempting to capture children. One includes a great eagle rescuing the children from the pinnacle (sound familiar, Tolkien fans?)[On a totally unrelated note: I was amused recently to learn that the phrase In vino veritas is attributed to Pliny the Elder (evidently lifted off a Greek phrase attributed to Alcaeus). I love that guy.]
